3 Speed Ceiling Fan Only Has 2 Speeds

Turning the knob to high or medium did nothing.

3 speed ceiling fan only has 2 speeds.

Because it occurred within a few months of the remodel and because our house s wiring has always been a little bit flakey anyway i figured that there must be some sort of electrical problem. When on pulling the chain once or twice doesn t alter the speed. 3 speed ceiling fan with only 2 speeds. On the third pull it will turn off.

3 speed ceiling fan only has 1 speed 3 answers i have a 3 speed hunter ceiling that i rarely turn off and all 3 speeds had been working. I think i even bought the last three they have left but i digress. The 4 wire switch has markings on one side that shows l 1 2 3. The kitchen ceiling fan used to have 3 speeds but now only has high speed.

I assumed the switch was bad and replaced it. For those who are having a problem with their hunter 3 speed fan not working on all speeds listen up. The l stands for load which is the black wire. My fan would work on low speed and high speed but when i selected medium speed i got low speed.

The ceiling fan would turn on by using the wall switch but it would only work on one speed low speed. It s like the clutch is broken and can t get out of third gear. I recently turned it off and when i turned it back on only the high speed is working. Two of the fans are working without a single flaw but i discovered one of the fans has issues with speed.

Any thoughts on how it can be fixed at all. I still only have the high speed. 1 2 3 are the fan speed control wires.
